Braswell Family Farms in Nashville, NC has an opening for a Part Time Event Coordinator. This person will primarily be responsible for planning and managing various events for Braswell Family Farms, such as conferences, employment events, social events. The Event Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the logistics, budget, vendors, and client satisfaction of the events. He/she determines details about events, such as the number of attendees, the venue, the catering, the entertainment, the agenda, the speakers, and the marketing materials. The Event Coordinator will also book venues and schedule speakers, research and negotiate with vendors, supervise volunteer personnel, manage all event operations, and evaluate the event’s success and submit after event reviews. Key areas of responsibility and organizational exposure will be:

  • This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, creative thinking, a passion for events, and creating a high-quality experience for attendees.
  • Note: Hours will vary based on event needs.
  • Ability to be flexible to play a number of roles, depending on the needs of a specific event.
  • Operational support for on-site and off-site events, including but not limited to set-up, breakdown, program facilitation, event management, inventory management, parking facilitation, and other duties assigned.
  • Event set-up can include tables, chairs, tents, ladders, canopies, decorations, lights, sound equipment, electrical equipment, audio/visual equipment, and other select equipment as needed.
  • Office work includes but is not limited to answering and returning phone calls, follow-up with inquiries, computer data entry, and assistance with correspondence and event files.
  • Candidates will serve in various roles and different capacities during multiple events.
  • Ensure cleanliness, organization, and accurate inventory of Special Event resources, spaces, and equipment.
  • Interact with guests during events, including the possibility of running activities or information stations.
  • Provide quality customer service while interacting with staff and attendees.
  • Will be responsible for the organization, upkeep, and preparation of equipment and supplies.
  • Additional responsibilities include crowd management, first-aid, and other duties assigned.
  • Must utilize administrative skills to track spending and budget of each event.
  • Work with internal team members to understand event purpose, culture, and activities.
  • Create an action plan of all required tasks.
  • Work with local organizations to gain community participation.

  • Excellent communication skills to explain and delegate tasks to event staff.
  • Superb interpersonal skills and a passion to engage and connect with volunteers.
  • Collaborative approach to leading and addressing various situations.
  • Employ sound judgment in decision making or problem resolution.
  • Aspiration to build long-lasting relationships.
  • Execution with minimal direction.
  • Comfort with outreach to potential partners.
  • Proficient with fundamental technology to prepare for and run events.
  • Skilled with social media and proficient with MS Office.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.46 - $22.23 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Nashville, NC 27856: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
