JOB DESCRIPTION
Dishwasher
SUMMARY:
This position supports the Management Team by cleaning all dishware, glassware, utensils, pots and pans and returning them to correct storage. The Dishwasher may be responsible for nightly cleaning of deli kitchen and prep areas, taking out all garbage and keeping the back dock and garbage dumpster area clean and organized. The Dishwasher may perform some basic food prep duties as assigned and may be required to help put away food orders as they arrive from vendors.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:

Preferred: Working towards High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience:
- Dishwashing or bussing experience recommended, but not required
Skills:
- Ability to efficiently deal with the rigorous demands of the restaurant business.
- Ability to interact with fellow employees and management and work as a team.
- Ability to work in a neat and organized manner.
Physical:
- Use of legs and feet, arms and hands, walk, stand, and carry up to 50 lb..
- Able to see and hear within normal standards with corrective devices if necessary.
Mental:
- Read, write, and speak English, basic math skills, work under pressure
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This person will work in a kitchen atmosphere, which is a semi-hazardous environment with moderate to heavy noise. Hazards include hot surfaces, slippery floors, sharp knives and objects, heavy lifting, hot liquids, kitchen equipment including slicers, processors, and mixers.
The working hours are dependent on the weekly schedule established by the Chef or Sous Chef of a
six-day-per-week restaurant. Hours worked, however, must reflect the actual time required for successful completion of a project/task. This is a variable position and there is no guarantee for a specific number of hours.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
The Dishwasher reports to the Corporate Chef, Chef and Sous Chef.
DUTIES AND TASKS:
1.Rinses all dishes, glassware, utensils and pots
2.Returns dishes, glassware, utensils and pots to storage areas in proper places
3.Nightly cleaning of deli kitchen and prep areas
4.Taking out garbage
5.Keeping the back dock and garbage dumpster area clean and organized
6.May perform some basic food prep duties if assigned by Chef or Sous Chef
7.May be required to help put away food orders as they arrive from vendors
