Position Overview
The Middle School Athletics Coordinator will be directly responsible to the Director of Athletics and Middle School Division Director on all matters of the Middle School Athletics Program.. S/he will serve on behalf of Breck School in ensuring that the athletic department philosophy and policy are articulated and implemented.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate Middle School (MS) Athletics:
- Fall: football, volleyball, girls’ tennis, boys’ and girls’ soccer
- Winter: boys’ and girls’ basketball
- Spring: baseball, boys’ tennis, boys’ and girls’ track, boys and girls’ lacrosse
- Administer programs within the established philosophies and guidelines of Breck School.
- Hire Middle School Coaches
- Overseeing
- Training
- Mentoring
- Schedule
- Working with SSYO, other associations, or independently to build sports schedules for each team
- Securing and confirming officials
- Secruting and confirming game workers
- Act as site supervisor or secure site supervision for all home events.
- Work with the Athletics Coordinator to maintain, update, and communicate the following for Middle School Athletics:
- Veracross
- Rschool
- Athletics Website
- Transportation
- Facility scheduling
- Manage Middle School Sports uniforms and equipment
- Distribution
- Collection
- Inventory
- Attend Grade Level Meetings and Community Meetings to share information and guide Middle School athletes and families on processes and options
- Create opportunities for increased participation
- Connect with athletes and families individually when necessary
- Work with the Director of Athletics and Assistant Upper School Athletic Director to align Middle and Upper School Athletic programs.
- Search and confirm opportunities to become involved in the life of the Middle School
- Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director and Middle School Division Director
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Flexible schedule during the school year; days, evenings and some weekends
- Deep understanding of MS Word, Excel, Google applications
