Summary/Objective
Here at Breckpoint, we have a one-of-a-kind program that allows any size employer to self-insure their health benefits.
The Claims Support Specialist aids the Policy Administration Manager and the Alternative Risk Team with organization, and prioritization of administrative duties regarding departmental workflow.
Roles and Responsibilities
• Manage the stoploss submission email box.
• Manage the policy submission email box.
• Create, assign, track, and update claim submissions.
• Work with Underwriting Team to coordinate claims reporting and policy issuance.
• Respond to status requests.
• Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reporting from TPA and broker partners
• Work with department manager to review deadlines, missing reporting, and requests for additional information.
Skills:
• Ability to establish and maintain relationships within Alternative Risk team.
• Must be detail oriented, well organized and the ability to manage a high-volume workload with competing demands.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Professional phone and writing skills with experience in customer facing positions.
• Strong math, communication, and analytical skills required.
• Demonstrates independent decision making while recognizing and accounting for anticipated consequences.
• Openness to new ways of thinking and acquiring new skills to retain a competitive advantage.
• Critical thinking and the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
• Documenting/recording information such as entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic form.
• Demonstrates a continuous improvement mindset.
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday for a total of 40 hours per week.
