What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Coordinator for Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies position at BridgeValley CTC?

BridgeValley Community & Technical College invites applicants for a full time, 9 month, benefits- eligible faculty position to serve as Clinical Coordinator for Human Services and Rehabilitation Studies Department within the General Education Division. This individual will be responsible for the coordination of all clinical sites and contracts, as well as the supervision of all student placement in the didactic and clinical phases of the program. Additional responsibilities, include, teaching, academic advising, on-going curriculum development, implementation and assessment in the classroom and clinical settings. Expectations include service to students, professional development, and service to the institution and community.
 
This position is a 9-month, renewable term, faculty position and is full-time and benefits eligible. We feel strongly about equal pay for equal work, and transparency in compensation is one vehicle to achieve that. Total compensation for this role is market driven, including an estimated 9-month base salary of $36,000-$40,000. Actual offer will commensurate with education and experience.
  • Develop, coordinate, and supervise all clinical and practicum placements 
  • Network, solicit and build relationships with multiple behavioral health facilities within the community
  • Uphold ACA ethical standards and Psychiatric Rehabilitation principles and values 
  • Maintain proper documentation of student clinical and practicum progress and completion
  • Travel to behavioral health facilities within the community to complete supervisory visits
  • Manage on-site/on-campus urinalysis and background screenings.
  • Communicate with on-site supervisor on regular/ weekly basis to monitor student progress
  • A strong commitment to quality teaching, student success and academic excellence
  • Understand current and emerging instructional and educational delivery technologies
  • Resolve any ethical dilemmas or conflict in coordination that may arise
  • Prepare lesson plans and instruction, through blended classroom and distance education delivery modes, based upon assigned course load
  • Provide availability and accessibility to students for the purpose of academic consultation and support; advise assigned student caseload; communicate expectations and establishes clear grading criteria through appropriate instructional means
  • Participates in college, division, department, and general faculty meetings; in-service training; curriculum development; academic consulting; workshops and seminars; serve on college committees, and other activities within the scope of the position
  • Serve as primary club advisor and coordinate activities for the HSRS-specific student organization, Paradigm Pioneers
  • Willingness to work evenings, alternative schedules, in alternative work locations, and at all BVCTC campuses
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum:
  • Master's Degree preferred; however, candidates who have a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Counseling or other related fields such as Social Work, Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy and be enrolled in a graduate program within one year of employment as a faculty member; or have a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling or other related fields and at least 10 years of work experience either addiction or mental health specific or working with children and families  will also be considered with specialized skills in addictions or youth development is required. Specialty in Child and Family Development preferred. 
  • At least one-year minimum providing Clinical Supervision or instruction working with adults or experience performing individual, group, or family psychoeducation
  • Experience networking with behavioral healthcare providers 
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with current behavioral health facilities and the service provided 
 
Preferred:
  • At least 1-year full-time teaching experience in a collegiate setting; 3-year part-time teaching experience considered
  • Experience building curriculum in and teaching within Learning Management Systems
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
  • Comfortability in meeting multiple deadlines simultaneously through previously acquired experience
  • At least 2-years full time teaching experience (12-15 credit hours per semester) 
  • Proficiency in the coordination of multiple clinical sites, as well as the ability to generate clinical placement opportunities for students
  • Knowledge in development of assessments complimentary to learning objectives 
  • Knowledge of and ability to integrate computer technology in the classroom
  • Strong person-centered values and humanistic approach toward Behavioral Health
  • Excellent in problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Teaching experience in community college setting 
  • Experience in the development of learning contracts and/or Memorandums of Understanding
