What are the responsibilities and job description for the Extra-curricular position - BEST BUDDIES - BRRHS position at Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District?
Best Buddies AdvisorBest Buddies is a global organization; therefore, the advisor must meet expectations and deadlines set by Best Buddies International. These include: making sure annual chapter dues are paid, students are paired in friendship matches, student's applications are completed and uploaded into the system, communication with a liaison from Best Buddies MA & RI, and semi-annual reports are written and completed. The advisor chooses and assists the student leadership team in planning biweekly meetings, planning and organizing fundraisers, and coming up with opportunities to promote inclusion within the school community between students with and without disabilities. Other responsibilities include, managing funds for the club's account, acquiring materials needed for planned activities/meetings, facilitating interactions during biweekly meetings, communicating regularly with parents, supervising multiple students with and without disabilities at meetings, and facilitating friendship pairings. There are some additional optional events that are hosted by Best Buddies MA & RI that the advisor may attend (Best Buddies Friendship walk, Best Buddies night at Celtic & Red Sox games and Leadership conferences.The mission of the Bridgewater-Raynham Regional School District is to provide excellence in education for all students in an environment that values the individual.
