POSITION: Maintenance Mechanic
Position Summary
The Plant Mechanic, under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our industrial baking facility. The primary objective of this position is to provide support to the production crew by addressing mechanical issues, conducting preventative maintenance, and undertaking fabrication projects in a timely manner.
Work Schedule
Day Shift(6 a.m. to 3 p.m.) Monday - Friday Weekend Availability (Need to be flexible)
Location: 35 Union Ave, Bridgeport, CT
Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor
Tasks & Responsibilities
Mechanic's Tasks:
In all assigned tasks, ensure compliance with quality standards and food safety regulations. Report any deviations to the QA Department.

Tasks & Responsibilities
Mechanic's Tasks:
In all assigned tasks, ensure compliance with quality standards and food safety regulations. Report any deviations to the QA Department.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electromechanical & control issues by assessing equipment condition, diagnosing problems, and implementing necessary corrections
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities promptly and maintain detailed documentation of all work performed
- Install, maintain, and repair various mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems within production equipment and the facility
- Fabricate parts, structures, and equipment using available tools in the maintenance shop
- Assist in the installation of new production equipment and ensure proper connections for optimal functionality
- Must be able to use computerized preventative maintenance systems
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic preferably in a food processing or bakery manufacturing environment
- Ability to work under pressure/urgently when fixing equipment
- Able to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment
- Able to ensure maximum equipment availability, efficiency, reliability through preventive maintenance and upgrades
- Able to have “out of the box” thinking for creative repairs and improvements
- Inspect machines, create repair lists, and identify short and long-term repairs so that machines run correctly and safely
- Read prints, schematics, and manuals to identify and order parts needed to perform necessary repairs
- Excellent mechanical/electrical/electronic aptitude
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to convey concepts and ideas effectively.
- Mechanical / Electromechanical Controls experience
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Strong decision-making abilities and personal initiative.
- Demonstrated autonomy and organizational skills.
- Proficient troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
