The Department of Psychiatry at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, an academic teaching hospital and affiliate of Harvard Medical School, is seeking a Director of Psychology to oversee the psychology section of faculty across the department and serve in a leadership role for psychology within the institution. The department provides care to a diverse population of patients with high medical co-presentations and is a major teaching site for the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School Psychology Internship Training Program and Psychiatry Residency Training Program.
We are seeking a mid to senior career level clinical psychologist professional who has demonstrated a strong academic record of success as a scientist-practitioner with outstanding clinical acumen and an established program of research. Preference for candidates with established expertise in clinical research associated with psychotherapy including an emphasis in cognitive-behavioral and “third-wave” theory, treatment, and program development. Responsibilities will include management of the psychology section (including partnership with existing psychology leaders of clinical care, education and research), outpatient clinical services, teaching/training/supervision, and the development of clinical research programs.
Applicants must have completed an APA-accredited doctoral program in clinical psychology, an APA-accredited internship, and be licensed in Massachusetts (or license eligible). Academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training, and achievements. Strong preference for diverse candidates and those with demonstrated commitment to culturally-responsive care and experience with diverse populations.
