The Position
Although your primary role as Front Desk Receptionist is to create a welcoming environment for our patients as their first point of contact, you will also have the opportunity to learn all about the many facets of optometry including the optical and clinical side. We want to support your growth and advancement in this exciting and rapidly evolving field. In return, we expect our employees to make a positive impact in the practice and in the lives of our patients. We are looking for a friendly, detail-oriented, self-motivated person who enjoys working on a team. You will need good computer and verbal skills, as well as the ability to multitask.
Our office is extremely family friendly and has excellent hours compared to many retail establishments. We need someone willing to work 30-40 hours per week with flexibility depending on patient scheduling demands.
Duties
- Answer phone and schedule appointments
- Verify insurance coverage and educate patients on their benefits
- Check patients in and out
- Maintain patient retention system
- Adjust and fit eyewear for patients
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- At least 2 years of Customer Service experience
- Knowledge of computer systems
- Prior healthcare or optometry experience is preferred but not required
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
