Brighton Park Neighborhood Council (BPNC) is a community based, nonprofit organization serving a working class neighborhood on Chicago's Southwest side. BPNC's mission is to create a safer community, improve the learning environment at public schools, preserve affordable housing, provide a voice for youth, protect immigrant rights, promote gender equality, and end all forms of violence.

Position Type: Part-time Position 4-8 hrs/week between 3pm-6pm at Davis Elementary

Art Instructor Job Description

Under the supervision of the Resource Coordinator, this position will lead, instruct, guide and monitorprogress of all participants in the cheerleading programs.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Teach cheerleading classes
  • Record the progress of each cheerleader
  • Complete daily safety equipment check list
  • Organize, set up and take down equipment for each class or event
  • Assist in the planning and execution of the cheerleader’s competitions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by resource coordinator

Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to organize and lead cheerleading classes
  • Comprehension of cheerleading skills and techniques
  • Experience teaching elementary-school students with a broad range of abilities and backgrounds
  • Enthusiasm to work with middle-school students
  • Ability to pass background check
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) (preferred)
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Covid Vaccine required
  • Provide negative TB test

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Chicago, IL 60632: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
