What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Finance position at BRINC Drones?
BRINC Drones is striving to help all first responders by making products that quickly and effectively respond to 911 calls. Our vision is to have a mesh drone network system that gets to a 911 call in seconds rather than minutes or hours. This allows our responders to get eyes on what’s happening whether it be a fire, medical emergencies, violence, or search and rescue. This vision is already in the works with a product called LEMUR which helps SWAT teams safely enter a building without putting the suspect or officers in danger. We are seeking a Director of Finance to join our global headquarters in Seattle, Washington. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all company financial activities to ensure it stays in solid financial standing. The successful candidate will be able to bridge the gap between the loosely-structured nature of a growth business and help us build a mature global business.
Responsibilities
- Drive annual budget planning process for the business, including evaluating the needs of each department in the long term
- Drive the business towards revenue targets that we need to achieve our plans
- Partner with executive leadership team on expenditure management
- Develop financial models to analyze and evaluate new growth opportunities and strategic decisions for our global business
- Make sound investment decisions to increase our company’s portfolio
- Create financial/accounting processes and systems that help us scale and identify risk and opportunity areas
- Implement company policies and address employee questions
- Hire and manage finance team staff, including delegation of work, professional development and delivering performance evaluations
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of progressive professional financial/accounting experience demonstrating increasing responsibility, scope, and leadership
- Experience with FP&As
- Experience managing cash flow and credit terms
- Demonstrated success building both forecasts and budgets from scratch
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in business, accounting, finance, or relevant field
- Outstanding teamwork and people leadership skills
- Knowledge of corporate financial governance, financial analysis and start up valuation
- Working knowledge of fiscal policy and investment regulations
- Familiarity with tax laws, specifically related to R&D tax credits
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Expensify and payroll software
- Experience in both an accounting firm or banking and in the tech industry
- Experience in a finance role at a growth start-up
- Experience in a hardware company
- Experience preparing an exit strategy, specifically through an IPO
