What You'll Do:
As the Purchasing Assistant, you will create, coordinate, and process MRO (maintenance, repair, other)purchase orders and related tasks accurately and timely.
Your Accountabilities:
· Creates, coordinates, and processes the purchases orders for MRO (maintenance, repair, other) purchases in the ERP system accurately and timely.
· Provides confirmation of orders to ensure lead times, special instructions, and shipping needs are met.
· Schedules and handles the shipping logistics of assigned product ensuring shipping due dates are met.
· Handles expedited materials to ensure it is received timely.
· Processes past due purchase order reports, as needed, and reports/provides to appropriate team members.
· Assists the accounting department with processing of expense reporting, as needed.
· Assists with the research of supplier and vendors for MRO purchases.
Position Requirements:
A. Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred; may consider equivalent course work with proven experience for the right individual.
B. Experience: 3 years of relevant experience in a purchasing assistant role within a manufacturing environment.
C. Certification(s): N/A
D. Functional Skills: Strong organization skills with an ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks. Strong attention to detail with excellent follow-up skills.
E. Technology Aptitude/Skills: ERP experience needed, experience with Odyssey a plus; Microsoft office experience preferred, good skills in Excel a plus
F. Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with others effectively via email or on the phone.

Other Important Information:
Pay Programs: Pay is commensurate with proven expertise!
Reports To: MPL Manager
Core Hours: Day Shift (8 am – 5 pm) – 1 hr lunch
Work Conditions:
· The employee is primarily exposed to a normal office environment with moderate noise.
· The employee is occasionally required to wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment while visiting manufacturing departments.
