Job Description

This position will be responsible for formulating and sustaining the Devens Cell Therapy Site Strategy while also influencing cross-functional execution in alignment with the strategy.  The Strategy Lead will develop and guide the annual site goals and objectives, budget process, master plan, key program and investment business cases, workforce planning, and key offsite communications.  This position collaborates on these efforts with the site leadership team and global stakeholders across strategy and business excellence, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, information technology, facilities, manufacturing science & technology, and other functional areas.  The role contributes to the success of the site by applying an organized and efficient approach to planning and driving the strategy.   Given the dynamic nature of cell therapy, this position will require an individual who can provide structure within ambiguous situations and can quickly adapt to change while engaging teams to make forward progress.  This position reports in through the Devens Cell Therapy Strategy and Business Operations team and is actively involved in the maturation of site business processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and sustainment of the Devens CT long term and annual site strategy
  • Collaborate with Devens CT site leaders and network stakeholders and drive conversations to align on the strategic vision for the organization and facility
  • Work closely with associated product teams and digital technology teams to influence and help shape the Devens Cell Therapy 5-year roadmap in alignment with the Cell Therapy network and the Devens Campus
  • Analyze network and industry trends to gain understanding which can be used to influence for competitive advantage
  • Support the development of business cases for different investments opportunities and programs, combining knowledge the value stream opportunities and return on investment
  • Clearly and efficiently communicate the status of the Devens CT goals and objectives to site and network stakeholders
  • Orchestrate and drive maturation of the annual Devens CT budget development process in partnership with finance and network Strategy and Business Excellence teams
  • Develops and sustains the Devens CT master plan within the greater Devens campus master plan
  • Owns the Devens CT Business Continuity Plan and ensures it remains current and sufficiently mitigates the evolving risk profile
  • Coordinate with network Strategy and business Excellence strategy lead and other site strategy leads to formulate the Devens CT capacity model and associated staffing model

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, information technology, business, or related field
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience including 2 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment, preferably in life sciences
  • Advanced knowledge of financial, operational, and business management principles
  • Experience working in biopharma, cell therapy, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), FDA regulated, or other regulated environments is a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Project, Excel, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate the value of complex solutions in a way that is easily understood and engaging to diverse audiences
  • Successful performance in a matrixed environment. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously while consistently delivering high quality results.
  • Proactive, detail oriented, flexible, and able to multi-task. Strong organizational skills, including project management experience.
  • An independent self-starter, and excellent team player in a demanding and dynamic environment
  • Comfortable working in a rapidly changing environment.  Able to prioritize across competing demands.
  • Ability to travel, up to 10%, on average
  • A team player with the desire to build positive relationships and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
