Job Title: Community Research Partnerships, Network Partnership & Strategy Lead, Associate Director, US Medical

Job Description Summary:  Community Research Partnerships (inclusive of IO-ICON) is part of the US Medical organization and focuses on building strategic collaborations between BMS and community-based oncology and other practice networks, facilitating knowledge of BMS pipeline while supporting the development and delivery of mutually beneficial medical, data and educational initiatives. This position will report to the Group Director and Lead for Community Research Partnerships (CRP) a pillar in the Portfolio Strategy Team, and will serve as a core member of the CRP team. The Network Partnership & Strategy Lead will be responsible for driving the strategy and execution for the operational, advisory engagement and communication needs of the platform. The role will involve engagement with oncology network membership advisors, as needed, for internal stakeholders across functions (e.g. R&D, Medical, HEOR, Commercial, HEOR), and serve as the primary point of contact for implementation of tumor/disease specific advisory planning in collaboration with medical leads. This person will also serve as the strategic resource for the CRP Lead, and support key annual events, objective setting and financial planning. This role will include:


  • Key member of the CRP Team, responsible for understanding the operational needs and communication strategy and ensuring materials to execute are delivered according to team objectives and customer needs
  • Creates a high performing, externally focused function which emphasizes teamwork, cooperation, personal accountability and a commitment to quality
  • Establishes and maintains professional relationships with key medical experts, decision-makers and difference-makers within community networks/practices across the platforms
  • Drives planning and execution of platform meetings, and manages communication with platform Joint Steering Committees and all advisory groups
  • Collaborates with BMS Consultant Engagement analysts for platform event planning, honoraria payment processing, and other requirements as dictated by BMS policy
  • Effectively interacts and collaborates at all levels within BMS as required to maintain critical understanding and implement/manage key programs
  • Supports integration of CRP objectives with BMS cross functional teams (e.g., RCO, US Medical, Access, HEOR, Commercial)
  • Develops communication strategic approach and tools to drive understanding and awareness; and assist team in preparation of strategic engagements both internally and externally
  • Collaborates with Group Director & Lead to drive CRP Team engagement and cross functional collaboration  
  • Ensures agency and or vendor oversight to deliver team needs
  • Assists in the project management of critical team activities and the CRP annual budget

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • BA or BS required, advanced degree desirable (or equivalent experience) with minimum of 6 years of experience in clinical practice or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Previous experience in team operations, budget management, communications and/or project management is preferred
  • Ability to understand and stay current with key disease states, scientific and medical advances, business trends and health care marketplace drivers that impact the commercialization of BMS therapeutics
  • Ability to communicate our company strategies and priorities, aligned with the team objectives
  • Understanding of the product delivery and commercialization process with a focus on research and development and medical affairs
  • Effective communicator with customer mindset to support interfacing internally and externally to optimize research areas of collaboration with our external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, solve problems, manage timelines, think strategically and independently, deliver on commitments, and work with multidisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and to promote collaboration between functional area team members and with senior management to effectively and efficiently achieve desired results and outcomes

Travel: 15% (at peak)
