What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician (Desktop & IMAC) position at Brite?
JOB SUMMARY
The Technician – Desktop and IMAC roles are responsible for installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and upgrading all desktop hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance. The positions troubleshoot problem areas remotely and in person in a timely and accurate fashion, and provides end-user assistance where required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Reviews, tests and evaluates programs and software packages to ensure they meet Brite Computers’ performance objectives, specifications and user needs.
- Provides technical support to customers through detailed ticket documentation.
- Responds to incidents, requests for service and customer questions within required response times.
- Assists end users with installation of applications and computer peripherals.
- Enters commands into computer to place programs in production status.
- Assists end users to resolve computer-related problems, such as inoperative hardware or software.
- Trains end users in use of new software or hardware.
- Reads technical journals or manuals and attends vendor seminars to learn about new computer hardware and software.
- Repairs desktops, laptops, hardware and software.
- Assists in system upgrades and maintenance.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and a minimum of one years’ technician experience or an equivalent combination of related work experience, training and/or education sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job is required.
