POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for continued enhancement and support of Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and other applications used by the accounting team. Lead projects to improve transaction processing, financial reporting and financial decision making by integrating appropriate technology, human resources and best practices to meet business needs.
LOCATION: Nashville, TN office. BMI has transitioned back to working in the office on a regular hybrid schedule. At present, most team members are expected in the office three (3) days a week. Decisions regarding future transitions will take place in phases as BMI continues to closely monitor COVID-19 as employee safety is our priority.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Develop and manage the Accounting teams’ technology use including proactive process improvements, high level of accuracy, effective internal controls and cross training.
- Serve as business/technology lead for accounting and technology projects which require coordination between various departments to ensure projects are properly prioritized and executed on schedule.
- Configure and set-up Oracle EBS modules as needed.
- Manage development of business requirements, procedures, test plans, and other activities to ensure that financial accounting system maintenance and upgrades are completed effectively.
- Gather, organize, and evaluate information for business requirements for financial reports. Collaborate with relevant departments to document, develop, test, and deploy needed reports.
- Gather, organize, and evaluate information on financial accounting system issues and analyze data gathered to develop solutions or alternative methods of processing.
- Participate (act as Accounting decision maker) in corporate projects in developing approach, business requirements and financial analysis, while ensuring that accounting requirements are adhered to.
- Actively keep knowledge and expertise current with new Oracle releases and technology advances, and analyze potential opportunities and risks in adopting upcoming versions of software
- Support growth in financial accounting system and literacy by coaching users in identifying, diagnosing, documenting, and resolving common financial accounting system issues.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Directly supervises (1) departmental employee while providing appropriate leadership, guidance and development to entire accounting team and other departments relating to Accounting technology. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required; Emphasis in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Information Technology is a plus
Experience: Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in functional and technical roles related to accounting technology and processes. Knowledge of /experience with Oracle EBS 12.1 or 12.2 Financial and Procurement modules (GL, XLA, AR, AP, OIE, IBY, CE, FA, PO, ICX and ZX) or similar modules of equivalent ERP systems, with preference given to Oracle EBS experience.
Skills and Abilities: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Strong experience related to data analysis and reporting of financial databases leveraging query tools.
- Strong in the use of Microsoft Office software, including strong ability to analyze data using Excel for reporting and data mining purposes.
- Extensive experience creating and modifying Microsoft Excel spreadsheets used for analyzing widely diverse types of data.
- Extensive experience creating queries and reports from complex relational databases using Microsoft Access, Toad or equivalent software tools.
- Ability to understand database table structure and how it relates to software applications.
- Ability to create and work RFC and SR tickets with Oracle On Demand, Oracle Managed Cloud Services and Oracle Support.
- Ability to understand related accounting policies and procedures.

- Strong people skills including the ability to interact with team members at all levels.
