RESPONSIBILITIES

The Fitness Lead is responsible for hitting total sales targets with a specific focus on PTM Net Gain. Fitness Leads are also fitness subject-matter experts and the go-to person for potential fitness sales at POS. The Fitness Lead will report directly to the General Manager with hands-on support from a Regional Fitness Manager and/or Regional Fitness Director.

  • Continuously modeling and promoting the NYSC and our family of brands mission, mission statement, and values with pride and integrity.
  • Providing a legendary member experience by consistently executing the Five Agreements.
  • Reviewing and adhering to all company documents including but not limited to policies and procedures, employee handbook, state supplement, codes of conduct, etc.
  • Being available to team members to address questions and concerns.
  • Partnering with the club team to ensure high levels of customer service and a consistently clean club.
  • Assisting the Regional Fitness Manager or General Manager in creating a strong sense of team by fostering collaboration, communication and alignment amongst team members.
  • Actively listening to client concerns and addressing issues before they become problems.
  • Assisting the Regional Fitness Manager or General Manager in guiding Personal Trainers through managing client relationships effectively.
  • Contributing to an environment where employees thrive and look forward to coming to work.
  • Assisting the Regional Fitness Manager or General Manager in onboarding and training qualified Personal Trainers.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and guidance to Personal Trainers and team members surrounding the administration of the fitness business, growing sales and revenue and client programming.
  • Support the Regional Fitness Manager or General Manager in conducting regular progression meetings to assess performance and validate Personal Training certifications.
  • Responding to client and member requests and inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Addressing potential safety hazards and equipment or maintenance issues on the fitness floor.
  • Ensuring the fitness floor is clean, organized and presentable.
  • Working with new and current members to ensure awareness of the fitness programs offered.
  • Consistently performing at or above daily index.
  • Supporting the Regional Fitness Manager or General Manager in planning daily, weekly and monthly fitness sales, revenue and retention goals and monitoring performance towards goals, as determined by indicies.
  • Continuously seeking new avenues of prospecting including, but not limited to, call drives, special events in the club and approaching new members at point of sale.
  • Ensuring fitness products and services offered in clubs are aligned and consistent with the company’s overall fitness strategy.
  • Scheduling and executing the full Fitness Orientation process from the needs analysis to sale.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 1 year of personal training experience; corporate gym setting preferred.
  • BA/BS in a fitness related field preferred but not required..
  • Current company-approved Certified Personal Trainer certification (CPT).
  • Child & Adult AED/CPR certified.
  • Experience working with programs for data analysis.
  • Physical demands include ability to lift up to 45 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations, walk through all areas of clubs, climbing stairs (where applicable), repetitive squatting, bending and lifting, restacking of weights, moving of equipment as necessary and ability to demonstrate other exercise movements as part of a personal fitness workout. The company reserves the right to change them as business needs require and that jobs may require other tasks as assigned to the employee by the company.
  • Ability to proficiently use our POS and membership system, timekeeping any other computer programs required to meet the business needs of the customer and the company.

SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS

Due to the nature of the business, New York Sports Clubs and our family of brands has specific scheduling guidelines for this position.

  • Team Members are required to work 3 out of the last 4 days of the month, with the last day of the month being mandatory.
  • New York Sports Clubs and our family of brands does not authorize vacation time in the months of January or September.
  • This position does not have a set schedule month-to-month and is subject to changes based on the needs of the business.
  • Must be able to work twenty (20) hours per week in the Fitness Lead position.
  • Fitness Leads are permitted, but not required, to work up to twenty (20) additional hours per week, providing personal training, small group training and/or group exercise services, inclusive of any time necessary to prospect, plan, prepare for, or clean up after the services.
