BronxWorks is hiring 1 Program Coordinator for the NYC Benefits Program
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and monitor quality assurance of program goals in compliance with agency and contract expectations.
- Report to, and meet with, supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Complete and submit data reports weekly and short narrative reports monthly or more
- frequently as required.
- Attend internal and external agency and funder meetings.
- Maintain staff schedule and conduct monthly staff meetings or more frequently as required.
- Supervise staff performance, adherence to agency guidelines, and provide monthly written feedback
- and trainings.
- Provide staff training on the database (s), program goals and duties as well as expectations to the
- agency.
- Provide and/or oversee individual, group and community presentations as assigned by the
- supervisor.
- Provide direct services to clients, including outreach, intake, benefit enrollment, referral,
- advocacy, and trainings.
- Supervise staff in monitoring and documenting client progress toward obtaining
- benefits. Ensure staff adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Document all interactions with, or on behalf of, clients.
- Oversee various internal and funder budgets in relation to programs supervised by this
- position.
- Conduct performance appraisals, and initiate/ complete staff warnings and Interim
- Performance Review, if required.
- Assist the supervisor with identifying and onboarding new staff under the position’s
- direction.
- Maintain familiarity with program resources available on- and off-site.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Masters degree or Bachelors degree with two years’ experience social services.
- Other experience required including supervisory, administrative and/or contract management.
- Bilingual proficiency in oral and written forms. Spanish, French, and Bengali languages preferred.
- Proficiency in modern business communications including personal computers, electronic mail, voicemail, facsimile and copier equipment
- Two-years’ experience providing public benefit services preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods.
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents.
- Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
- Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
