What is the School Psychology Internship?
Under the supervision of a licensed school psychologist develop skills in order to:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations including cognitive, academic, attention, social/emotional and functional behavior assessments
- Provide counseling services, both individually and in small groups
- Participate actively in IEP, RTI, and Child Study Team meetings in order to produce comprehensive and appropriate educational plans for students
- Serve as a liaison between the school, student, parent and external agencies
- Make referrals to external agencies and appropriate programs for students in need of support services
- Provide crisis intervention for students, which may include risk assessments, safety contracts and social service interventions
- Collaborate with parents and teachers, engaging them as partners in the student’s therapeutic intervention
- Conduct classroom screening to assist teachers in planning effective educational strategies for all students
- Perform other related duties as requested by supervisor
Is This You?
- You hold a master’s degree and are currently enrolled in a NASP accredited school psychology program.
- You have a dedication to the Brooke Charter School philosophy and mission. You are in good academic standing and are meeting all graduate school program criteria to apply for an internship.
- You have passed course work related to theory, administration, and interpretation of standardized instruments.
- You have excellent skills in the areas of teamwork, oral and written communication, and organization.
- You are able to start on July 21, 2024.

- Official copy of graduate school transcript
- Letter from graduate school program director verifying that the candidate is in good academic standing and eligible for internship.
