POSITION OVERVIEW
The Human Resources Staffing Coordinator for the Public Schools of Brookline will be responsible for performing a variety of transactional and human resources functions including but not limited to supporting the hiring process for all benefited positions, preparing letters and hiring documents, assisting with the maintenance of employee files, attendance records, and providing general office support and customer service. The position reports to the Director of Human Resources and will directly assist and act in a confidential capacity to persons otherwise excluded from coverage under MGL chapter 150E.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for assisting all bargaining unit new hire and transfer employees through the onboarding process; processing new hire and transfer paperwork in the various HRISs.
- American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) & Brookline Educators Union (BEU)
- Process all CORI for new employees, current employees, parents, and volunteers.
- Maintain and monitor data input of CORIs, MTRS, and staffing profiles in Excel, MUNIS and X2(ASPEN),
- Create MEPIDs for new hires
- Review and input clearance of CORIs and SAFIS into PSB HR spreadsheet, as well as provide correspondence of clearance to hiring managers, secretaries, and after school directors.
- Provides superior customer service to all Human Resources office visitors.
- Maintains employee files both physical and electronic according to instructions outlined by the Director and/or applicable federal and state laws.
- Assists management by handling confidential information as it relates to matters of collective bargaining, employee discipline, and benefits and leave administration.
- Responsible for producing HRIS reports
- Assists with administering the new hire orientation program and any other training activities of the department.
- Assists in the maintenance of a human resources/payroll information system (occasionally assists with the payroll support as requested by the Director of Human Resources).
- Record State Ethics completion in MUNIS.
- Create MEPIDs & ASPEN staff profiles for all new hires
- Licensure checks for all PSB positions that require DESE licensure.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
QUALIFICATIONS-REQUIRED:
- Associate’s Degree or higher
- Minimum 2-3 years work experience in an office environment
- Experience with full cycle recruitment and facilitating new hire orientation
- Experience working with bargaining units, labor negotiations, mediation, and workplace investigations
- Excellent skills in: Google Suites, computer and data analytics, verbal and written communication, quantitative-based decision making
- Excellent and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to act decisively
- Organized and detail oriented with ability to prioritize, multi-task, meet deadlines and competing demands
- High professional standards of customer service and work quality
- Motivated, self-starter, able to work independently with commitment to positive outcomes
- Negotiating, teamwork and conflict management skills
- The successful candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to handle multiple tasks in a highly interactive environment.
- Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS-PREFERRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
- Minimum 1-2 years of professional experience working in a human resources office or similar office environment
- Experience with MUNIS, POWERSCHOOL, FRONTLINE or other human resources data systems, applicant tracking and payroll software
- Current knowledge of key strategies and trends in human capital discipline
TERMS: Non-Aligned (At-Will), Salary, 12 months
