What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner position at Brookring Federal?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide assistance in support of the West Virginia Veterans Nursing Facility in Clarksburg.
Work Schedule:
- Regular working hours are 8:00am-4:00pm.
- NP will be asked to work 3 days per week (between M-F) for 8 hours each day.
- The 3 workdays are still to be determined.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical evaluations and treatment programs.
- Write medical history, programs for treatments, care, records, referrals, and discharges.
- Review charts for quality, quantity, and progress notes for medical documentation.
- Prescribe orders for laboratory and diagnostic tests as needed.
- Complete referrals for specialized medical services.
- Make daily rounds to residents
- Collaborate with health care providers that include the Dietician and or Dietary Manager concerning weight loss/gains and diet changes.
- Collaborate with the Wound Care Nurse for treatment of Pressure, Diabetic, Vascular, and Arterial Ulcers.
- Collaborate with the pharmacy consultant for medication management, and other health care providers that work in coordination to care for the residents.
- Document in the progress notes, treatment, orders, and perform assessments in the electronic medical records.
Requirements
- Hold a valid WV registered Nurse Practitioner License
- Know and abide by all Federal and State Long Term Care regulations
- Have at least three (3) years of Long-Term Care Experience
- Have and keep a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) card
- Be able to complete a WV Cares Twelve Panel drug screening
- Be able to pass a background check
