Request for Additional Part-Time Elections Clerk Position
POSITION OVERVIEW
The part-time elections clerk is responsible for performing clerical duties in the Brooks County Registration and Elections office.
The Elections clerk performs repetitive, high-volume tasks pertaining to the election process, particularly absentee by mail, and will perform functions to ensure that all eligible voter's ballots are processed and counted. Access the statewide voter registration database. Performs clerical and administrative support duties. Assist with mail runs, including opening, time stamping, and distributing mail. Enters absentee by mail ballot, requests information in the VR system, and assembles ballot packets. Copies, scans, indexes, and files absentee by mail ballots applications. Files and maintain the security of returned ballots. Work cooperatively and jointly to provide continuous improvement and customer-driven skills. Performs other related duties as assigned.
HOURS AND PAYSCALE
This is a part-time position and will require 28 hours per week with no benefits.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Education or G.E.D. and Six (6) months of related work experience.
Driver's License and reliable transportation.
Friendly, courteous with good people skills.
Computer skills and general office skills are required.
Must pass a background check and drug screen before an offer for employment is made.
