Job Title: SCADA Engineer
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated System Analyst to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming, and Human-Machine Interface (HMI) development. This role requires a deep understanding of industrial automation systems and the ability to translate technical requirements into efficient and effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- SCADA System Development:
- Design, develop, and deploy SCADA systems to monitor and control industrial processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define system specifications.
- Configure SCADA software to collect data from various sensors and devices.
- Implement alarming, data logging, and visualization features within the SCADA system.
- Conduct testing and troubleshooting to ensure the reliability and performance of SCADA systems.
- PLC Programming:
- Develop PLC programs to automate control processes in manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Program PLCs using industry-standard languages such as ladder logic, structured text, and function block diagrams.
- Integrate PLCs with other systems, including SCADA software and enterprise databases.
- Debug and optimize PLC code to enhance system functionality and efficiency.
- Provide technical support for PLC-related issues and assist in resolving operational challenges.
- HMI Development:
- Design and develop intuitive Human-Machine Interface (HMI) applications for operators and technicians.
- Create graphical user interfaces (GUIs) to visualize process data and control system parameters.
- Customize HMI screens to meet specific user requirements and operational needs.
- Implement interactive elements such as buttons, sliders, and alarms within the HMI software.
- Conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve the user experience of HMI applications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in SCADA system development, PLC programming, and HMI design.
- Proficiency with industry-leading SCADA software such as Wonderware, Ignition, or GE iFIX.
- Strong programming skills in PLC languages such as ladder logic, structured text, or function block diagrams.
- Familiarity with HMI development tools such as FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or VTScada.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in SCADA system integration or PLC programming.
- Experience with cybersecurity practices for industrial control systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards for SCADA and PLC systems (e.g., ISA-95, IEC 61131).
- Familiarity with IoT technologies and cloud-based SCADA solutions.
Experience working in regulated industries such as pharmaceuticals, oil and gas, or utilities
