The Business Development Manager manages the development of new business opportunities in the Industrial Product Division (IPD) multi-unit garment business segment. The position sells 3 rd party products, along with Brother Garment Printers, as part of the overall sales strategy, closing sales opportunities throughout the United States. This position develops new business plans and executes on them, ensuring alignment with the overall company and IPD divisional objectives, achieving the annual sales goals assigned. As part of its business development function, this role prospects for net new customers and drives growth within named existing customers to upgrade to multi-unit production solutions. The capital expenditure sales from individual customers would be in the $300K+ range. Additionally, this role updates the company CRM tool with all sales related activities and maintains a pipeline that will achieve the annual sales goals.
New Business Development & Sales Management
- Manage sales & development of new business opportunities within the assigned territory, driving growth and revenue in these areas
- Develop a sales strategy for new business, including prospecting for net new customers and growing existing customers, driving deal opportunities through strategic/consultative sales process; ensure successful sales closure
- Generate sales leads through a variety of ways, including but not limited to: cold calling, open houses, pre-set appointments
- Participate in trade-shows, traveling as required
- Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales objectives
Market Knowledge & Activity
- Develop knowledge of competitors’ products, maintaining subject matter expertise to support sales ability
- Continually monitor and analyze competitors’ products, programs, and pricing
- Monitor Brother’s position in the marketplace, recommending enhancements to management
- Escalate new ideas around collateral, tools, policy, and procedures
- Act as liaison between distributors/end users and Brother internal departments
Reporting & Administration
- Produce Accurate Monthly Sales Forecast for Position
- Fully utilize corporate CRM tool, updating with all sales activity and maintaining an active pipeline
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience)
- 7 years of experience managing a sales territory and driving revenue throughout the sales process from start-to-finish
- Experience developing new business, generating leads, and creating/executing on developed sales strategy
- Experience in industrial products preferred
