What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk Receptionist position at Broward Ophthalmology Group?
We have an opening for a MEDICAL FRONT DESK RECEPTIONIST for a busy Ophthalmology practice. The Front Desk Receptionist is the first line of customer service for all patients, vendors, other medical practices, fellow employees and visitors entering our office or calling on the telephone. Our ideal candidate embraces a customer service attitude, has exceptional multi-tasking abilities and is a team player.
This is a par time position working 18-25 hours per week, average 3 weekdays.
Required Skills or Experience for Qualified Candidates:
· MINIMUM of 2 years medical office experience, front desk preferred
· Proficient in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and/or Practice Management system(s)
· Experience obtaining referrals, verifying insurance plans, checking in/out patients and posting payments
· Positive upbeat personality, exceptional customer service, and ability to work under pressure
· Ability to solve problems quickly and proactively, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
· Ability to relate in a respectful, professional, courteous manor with patients and employees at all times
· Excellent verbal and written skills
· Comfortable with technology and system upgrades
· Clerical duties, such as photocopying, filing, faxing, data entry and other general office tasks
· Strong attention to detail, ability to follow up and follow through and complete work on time
· Must be able to work effectively as a team member and independently based on the task
Additional Duties and Expectations:
· Acknowledge, smile and great patients upon arrival/dismissal
· Respond to patient questions or concerns
· Answering the phone in a professional, courteous manner
· Confirming and Rescheduling Appointments
· Checking Voicemail and E-Mail on a daily basis
· Making appointments and maintaining the schedule
· Cross training in all front desk responsibilities (e.g. surgery, referrals, and check out)
Preferred Skills:
· Experience working in Ophthalmology office
· Bilingual in Creole-HUGE Plus!
· Knowledge of Next Gen, SRS Soft or similar practice management or EMR systems
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office tools; comfortable with technology
