Position Summary
Brown Advisory seeks to hire a technical business analyst to join a new team focused on creating efficiencies within investment operations (trading, settlements, reporting, etc.).
You will work closely with business stakeholders to analyze and document requirements for both vendor and in-house applications. You will own the end to end process of developing quality requirements and ultimately ensuring end user needs and project goals are met. You will regularly liaise with business and IT users, developers, testers and other subject matter experts.
The primary duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Leading meetings with business stakeholders to gather requirements, propose solutions and coordinate testing and deployment efforts
- Capturing business requirements and converting them into technical specifications for development team via acceptance criteria and documentation
- Elaborating on requirements and current and future state workflows through supporting artifacts such as: process flow diagrams, wireframes, data models, scenarios, Excel matrices, and others as needed.
- Working closely with business stakeholders to ensure that all business requirements are understood, documented, and met
- Documenting existing business processes
- Collaborating with other teams to coordinate projects and deployments
- Creating and executing test plans for technology solutions
- Helping end users and engineers troubleshoot problems.
- Leading scrum ceremonies, managing the backlog, planning the sprints etc.
- Manage projects through the SDLC. The scope of these projects could include both the development of new software and significant enhancements/changes to existing software.
- Proving project updates to business stakeholders and technology leadership
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant equivalent experience
- 5 years of practical experience in system analysis, requirements and processes definition
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Team leadership experience is a plus
- 5 years of practical experience in system analysis, requirements and processes definition
- Experience writing technical stories
- Understanding of Agile Methodologies (Agile certifications are a plus)
- Strong SQL knowledge.
- Understanding of REST APIs, API design best practices
- Ability to analyze system interaction issues
- Experience with reporting tools (SSRS, Tableau) is a plus
- Financial Services / Asset management industry experience is a plus
- Experience with Order Management systems e.g. Charles River Investment Management System (CRD, CRIMS) is a plus
- Experience with PEGA development (Low code BPM tool) is a plus
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to work in an office location in a hybrid capacity
- Ability to comply with our COVID-19 vaccination policy
