What are the responsibilities and job description for the Work Planner position at Brown & Root?
The Work Planner is responsible for supporting construction field execution by working with craft supervision to plan work scope, remove roadblocks inhibiting scope completion, expediting materials, and assisting with field progress updates.
Work Planners report directly to the Construction Site Manager with functional reporting to the home office project controls department.
Responsibilities
- Work Planning
- Work with Craft Supervision to identify upcoming scopes of work and review all required drawings and documents.
- Work with Materiel Control and Procurement personnel to ensure all needed tools and materials are available to the craft in advance of performing work.
- Assist Craft Supervision in coordinating with other work scopes performing work in the same areas.
- Work with Project Controls and Craft Supervision to update 3 week look ahead reports.
- Progress Updates
- Assist field supervision with EVS progress updates based on quantities installed.
- Assist in field audits of installed quantities to ensure accuracy of supervision updates and project reporting
Qualifications
- High level of organizational skills
- Ability to effectively communicate with project management, customers, and technical staff
- Previous experience with general navigation in engineering models (Navisworks or other)
- Must be proficient in understanding construction drawings (all formats), specifications, standards, NDE requirements and general construction work practices.
- Previous experience in work packaging
- 5 years in related field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
