The Managing Director I leads and manages to ensure client satisfaction and firm profitability as well as being responsible for the planning, organizing, staffing, operational and business development activities of the Business Segment. Principal Responsibilities: Oversees the work performed by the Claims and Underwriting team- primarily by answering questions or assisting on challenging issues. Presents in marketing webinars and participates in calls, webinars, or meetings for new captive clients. Working with, Underwriting Team and ensures underwriting questionnaires are completed by clients and that actuaries have everything needed to price policies. Reviews and finalizes feasibility studies for prospective clients. Prepares licensing paperwork to be filed with regulators and ensures clients properly complete it. Reviews all license applications before they are filed. Draft business plan amendments when insurance programs change, obtain client approval, and file with the Department of Insurance. Request approval of dividends from the Department of Insurance. Review leases and make proposed modifications for implementation of the tenant liability program. Develop and customize training material to train clients on the implementation of the tenant liability program. Conducts weekly calls with new clients to ensure that the implementation occurs timely. Conducts annual board meetings for all captives. Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities Requirements: Maintains all licenses as required by the State Department of Insurance to provide consultation and financial risk transfer solutions in states where the firm functions. 2 years experience with insurance accounting audit experience. Experience with captive regulatory compliance with state departments of insurance. Possesses at least 3 years in captive formations experience. Has a high level of technical insurance knowledge, is organized, and possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possesses the ability to cast vision, develop effective strategies and tactics, and create positive motivation for business segment colleagues. Demonstrates the organization’s core values, exuding behavior that is aligned with the firm’s culture. Special Working Conditions: Fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
