Panhandle Power Solutions (PPS) is seeking an Electrical Cost Estimator. This position supports all aspects of the estimating department and reports directly to the Federal Preconstruction Manager. The estimator will serve as a resource to project teams regarding scopes of work for vendors/subcontractors, and clarify bid assumptions, methods, schedule, etc., as required.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
- Reviews and gains a thorough understanding of RFP documents, specifications, & design drawings.
- Works closely with the other members of the proposal team to generate and submit RFIs for proposals.
- Responsible for electrical takeoffs using estimating software, generation of the electrical construction estimate, as well as estimate breakout onto client-provided bid forms.
- Works with Preconstruction Manager (PCM) and other stakeholders to input subcontractor pricing and general requirements costs into the project estimate.
- Primarily responsible for estimated material procurement communications (quote requests), and supplier coordination.
- Works with the other members of the proposal team to ensure that all deliverables are generated and submitted within specified deadlines.
- Communicates regularly with internal company SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) for questions regarding assumptions or areas requiring clarification throughout the proposal process.
- Primarily responsible for the generation of proposal clarifications, assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions as well as draft proposal language.
- Develops high-level project schedules via Microsoft Project or Primavera P6 to support proposal packages.
- Ensures the overall accuracy, completeness, and competitiveness of cost estimate.
- Works with PCM after contract award to review received contracts for accuracy of scope and price to RFP documents and estimate.
- Supports major change order efforts for Periodically supports major change order efforts for projects in Course of Construction.
- Electrical Construction Knowledge
- General Construction Knowledge
- Excellent Written and Verbal Communication Skills required.
- Strong Proficiency of Accubid Anywhere software preferred, but not required.
- Strong Organizational and Interpersonal Skills
- High Proficiency Level with Computer Navigation and Applications such as: Bluebeam or similar PDF editing apps, Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
- Detailed Construction Take-Off Abilities
- Experience with electrical construction or estimating on federal installations is preferred, but not required.
- Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree required
- Required: 5 Years of relevant experience as a commercial electrical estimator
- Preferred: 10 Years of relevant experience as a commercial electrical estimator
