Responsibilities
- A registered nurse with demonstrated interest, education, and experience in trauma care and who, in partnershipwith the Emergency Medical Director, Trauma Medical Director (TMD), Director of Emergency and Trauma Services, Director of Quality Improvement and Hospital Administration, is responsible for coordination of trauma care.
- Coordination will include active participation in the trauma performance improvement program, the authority to positively impact trauma care of trauma patients in all areas of the hospital, and targeted prevention and education activities for the public and health care professionals.
- Active involvement disaster response within hospital and the Regional Emergency Management teams.
- Will have oversight over trauma registrars, performance improvement staff and trauma educator and Injury prevention coordinator to include annual evaluations and influence staff growth and development programs.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
Current Texas RN license
Basic Life Support Certification
ACLS
PALS or ENPC
TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course) or ATCN (Advanced Trauma Course for Nurses
Preferred Job Requirements:
Associate’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)
TOPIC (Trauma Outcomes & Performance Improvement Course) or TCCC (Trauma Coordinators Core
Course)
ATS (American Trauma Society) membership
3 years clinical trauma experience
1 year’s management or education experience
