Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and assist in the completion of the day-to-day activities, involving the maintenance of the building/facility, equipment and machinery including HVAC, building lighting systems, CNC machines, plate product production lines, ovens, grounds keeping, security and overall facility appearance. Conducts root cause analysis of equipment failures and implements fixes.
- Receives and reviews requests for maintenance and prioritizes maintenance activities based on urgency and availability of resources.
- Inspects equipment regularly to identify current and potential maintenance needs; recommends equipment upgrades or modifications to improve performance or reliability. Supervise and coordinate the work of employees who repair and maintain building/facility, equipment and machinery.

- Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversees the work product (while minimizing overtime and call-in hours).
- Provide technical assistance and operating support to the plant departments as needed; collaborate with the department supervisors and managers in determining engineering, maintenance, or repairs priorities to establish work schedules and personnel assignments.
- Works with plant management to develop a department budget that meets or exceeds stated company goals and objectives.
- May assist with conducting cost study analyses for capital expenditures. Review and make recommendations regarding the feasibility proper layouts for economic operations; reliability; and maintenance accessibility of the proposed and authorized projects.
- Provides leadership and coordinates activities for a department focused on manufacturing services.
- Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- With plant management and HR, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Review, generate, update, and manage the PM program and PM Schedules Oversees the quotation, initiation, scheduling, and coordination of all manufacturing service activities in support of operations.
- Focus on equipment uptime and cost avoidance.
- Arrange for and manage, appropriate third-party contractor support, as needed.
- Enforce sound safety and housekeeping practices.
- Inspects construction and installation progress.Demonstrate mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities.Installs, moves, repairs, and removes equipment and utilities within the building.All other reasonable duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s degree and/or 7 years of experience in a related facilities and maintenance discipline; knowledge of manufacturing operations, lean manufacturing concepts; at least 5 years of supervisory or team leader experience; or equivalent. Certified in OSHA programs and preferred practices.
- Physical Requirements: This position requires the mental ability to read and comprehend policies, procedures, instructions, etc., to write reports, to use logic and data to solve problems, to assess needs, to communicate effectively, and varying degrees of independence, judgment, and discretion. This position requires the physical ability to be mobile in an office and industrial environment, to finger and grasp materials, to speak effectively, and to listen with intent. Basic computer skills to include Microsoft.
