About the role :
BSI Consulting Services is seeking an experienced Utility & Power Plant Safety Professional in the Northern California Bay Area.
We are looking for Safety leaders who want to join the BSI family. Expectations include a passion for management of projects, manage and mentor staff, and provide exceptional service to clients.
This exciting position has niche technical consulting responsibilities, so we are looking for a unique individual who has technical EHS&S expertise in Utility & Power Plant Safety .
The ideal candidate should have a proven track record with 7-10 yrs. of Utility and Power Plant Safety experience.
Responsibilities :
- Work on complex safety projects reviewing design drawings and providing feedback on design for our clients.
- Develop and implement safety programs including hazardous energy control, confined space, fall protection, lockout / tagout, hazard communication, Injury and Illness Prevention Programs, etc.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify and manage risk.
- Work effectively to integrate EHS into the fabric and culture of clients. Leverage the safety and health program to build morale and increase productivity of the employees and the operation.
- Perform project management and internal customer management for multiple large clients and help organize staff schedules.
- Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business, including consulting and compliance services.
- Work with the business development team to participate in introductory meetings specifically with clients with safety needs as a technical expert.
- Develop opportunities, including estimating work scope and price, writing proposals, following up on contacts and meetings, writing blog posts and white papers, and participating on local association boards.
To be successful in the role, you will have :
- Overall understanding and experience in Utility & Power Plant Safety.
- 7-10 years of related experience, preferably in a consulting firm.
- Comfortable working across multiple levels and company cultures, from in-the-field union workforce to executive level corporate stakeholders.
- Ability to gather and analyze complex data groups to develop actionable solutions along with the ability to present the information.
- Skills to build workable project plans that include project scope.
- Undergraduate degree in EHS or related field preferred.

The salary for this position can range from $125,000-$150,000; actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s competencies, level of experience, education, location, divisional budget, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
