Essential Job Functions
• Meets the monthly and annual sales quota as designated by Sales Manager.
• Makes inroads into the American consumer base by initiating new projects/products/
programs.
• Compiles Division IV sales data for Sales Manager, Purchasing Department, and Customers
• Manages brokers to set sales objectives and implement strategies accordingly.
• Visit and communicate with customers and potential customers to provide support,
information, and sell the Company’s products.
• Coordinates with the accounting department to assure the collection of payment in a timely
manner.
• Produces/participates in trade shows/events as set by business objectives.
• Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent service and building
rapport.
• Responds to and communicates with all customers in a timely manner.
• Coordinates urgent deliveries with the customer to accommodate their needs.
• Educates customers on how the products or services can benefit them.
• Inputs and updates orders within the Company database accordingly.
• Maintains and safely navigates the Company vehicle as per the Company Vehicle Policy.
• Participates in weekly sales meetings.
• Attends semiannual inventory count on designated day, possibly on a weekend.
• Attends Company events and functions outside of normal working hours.
• Other duties as required.
• Obligation to answer to all management as requested.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to drive and sit in a car for extended periods of time.
• Ability to sit in an office for extended periods of time.
• Ability to type and use a computer for extended periods of time.
• Ability to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to use the phone for extended periods of time.
• Working Conditions
o Noise Level: Normal to loud while in the office
Other Requirements
• Business level English – Read/write/speak/listen
• Conversational level Japanese; Business level Japanese preferred – Read/write/speak/listen
• To have and maintain a clean driving record
• Maintain a positive attitude
• Ability to work independently and as a team
• Ability to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload
• Pass the Sake Adviser course within 1 year of employment
• AA Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree or above preferred
• 2 years of food or liquor sales experience
• 2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred
Knowledge and Skills
• Basic mathematical knowledge – markups, discounts, combining/converting measurements,
counting inventory, etc.
• Data Compiling and Analysis skills
• Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Problem-solving skills
• Basic Microsoft Office proficiency
• Knowledge of ERP systems, especially AS400 preferred
• Communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge and previous attendance of tradeshows preferred
• Knowledge of Japanese foods and sakes
