What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Engineer position at BTI?
BTI is seeking multiple Field Engineers (FEs) to work in collaboration with Veteran’s Administration PM and leadership to complete Telcom Services (voice and data) inventories and site surveys at all 350 VA Tier IV sites across the country.
The Field Engineers will leverage VA templates and labeling nomenclature to thoroughly complete surveys, inventories, and associated documentation for voice and data services and hardware, to include photos. This may include tracing cables, checking dial tone, carriers, etc. Hardware will be inventoried to include type, serial #, version, etc.
Each site is expected to take 2-3 weeks. The specific locations, schedule, approach, and templates for the site and inventory surveys will be directed by the Dept of VA’s PM and Operational Leadership.
Each FE must be willing to travel 75% and have essential tools to include punch-down tool, butt set, dial tone tracing wand, able to lift 25 lbs., pass Public Trust, drug screening, and TB Testing.
Must be a US Citizens.
