Essential Functions:
Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP), promotes recovery, full community integration and improved quality of life for persons who have been diagnosed with any mental health condition that seriously impairs their ability to lead meaningful lives. Psychiatric rehabilitation services are collaborative, person directed and individualized. PRP focus on helping individuals develop skills and access resources needed to increase their capacity to be successful and satisfied in the living, working, learning, and social environments of their choice. More specifically PRP is designed to reduce or eliminate the maladaptive behaviors that stem from the presence of one or more mental health diagnosis in minors and adults. Psychiatric Rehabilitation has a direct correlation to psychical health rehabilitation and how it affects the human body and overall functioning. It is important when attempting to overcome a psychical condition prohibiting proper functioning of particular body parts, to improve bodily functions through physical health rehabilitation, likewise in Psychiatric Rehabilitation it is also important to an individuals mental stability and functioning. PRP services with the help of family and others involved in the clients care, establishes specific individual rehabilitation goals targeted to improving each clients improper behaviors and functioning stemming from their diagnosis which included but limited to ADHD, Bi Polar, Adjustment Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, and Oppositional Defiance. BTST provides blended PRP services, to include both on and offsite visitation.

Minimum Qualifications:
A degree in a health related field OR 30 hours toward a health related field
OR
One year of work direct care experience in a supervised mental health setting AND are responsible for implementing activities outlined in minor IRPs
Travel Requirement: PRP Counselors must use personal vehicle for all appointments with clients. Counselors must be able to travel to in person supervision appointments as well as other required events, meetings, and activities. Telehealth is temporarily encouraged due to Covid-19.
In accordance with (COMAR 10.21.29.09), Direct Care Counselors must have 60 hours of orientation/training/shadowing before providing services to minors served by the program. These 60 hours will be paid at the minimum wage per State and County regulations. These hours must be completed within a two-week period and will be structured by direct supervisor.
