Collins Aerospace has an exciting opportunity to join the Avionics Operations Cost Estimating team. The Cost Estimating Analyst is responsible for estimating the hardware costs for commercial and military proposals for the Avionics organization. The position works closely with the various functional teams such as engineering, procurement, program management and operations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Performs estimating activity for very complex customer RFPs or new business opportunities.
  • Have a general understanding of BoM structure, manufacturing cost flows, and application of various rates & factors
  • Work with other functions from across the company to understand and evaluate the labor, material and other direct costs associated with proposed contracts and the associated program
  • Helps identify and quantify proposal risks and opportunities
  • May participate in Internal / External audits
  • Relationship developing is key for this role as you will work in frequent collaboration with others
  • Understands Avionics / Collins / RTX rules, policies, and procedures. 
  • Ensures compliance with internal procedures and FAR/DFARS requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP Project Systems, Cost Estimating Program, Material Master Data, and Procurement modules
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Detail oriented with the ability to proactively ensure that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures
  • Proficient in handling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Capable of working both independently and in a team environment

Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
