What are the responsibilities and job description for the Materials Planner (HYBRID) position at BU_HS, Raytheon Technologies?

The Materials Planner will coordinate supply and demand planning with a production cell for AMS, Windsor Locks site. The candidate will work with a cross functional team, including finance, engineering, quality, purchasing, and production to develop the appropriate strategy and material master setting to ensure the timely delivery of supplied materials. The candidate will be responsible for maintenance and creation of the material master for parts that are housed within their production cells. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for leading cell SIOP reviews and participating in site SIOP reviews. These reviews will include demand reviews, inventory reviews, and operations and capacity analysis.

Hybrid: 

  • Must be a commutable distance from Windsor Locks, CT to work a hybrid schedule reporting on-site as needed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain material master for all parts within a production cell
  • Lead a weekly SIOP review with a members of a cross functional team
  • Identify and implement appropriate inventory entitlement range of coverages to best support customer delivery
  • Supports capacity analysis to identify bottlenecks, derive solutions, in support of the optimal production schedule
  • Sign off on engineering changes and work with production team to implement by effective date
  • Work with other business units planning team to coordinate delivery of product between plant sites, approve expedites, and level load demand
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the function
  • Coordinate with cross functional groups, engineering, quality, supply chain, operations, contracts to ensure the timely delivery of product to meet customer expectations
  • Drive improvements to key process indicators, on-time delivery, overdue reduction, and inventory reduction

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience OR
  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required
  • Must be a U.S. Person/Permanent Resident “Green Card” holder

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SIOP (Sales Inventory and Operations Planning) experience
  • SAP experience, specifically PP module
  • Experience using Excel pivot tables and lookup functions
  • APICS CPIM experience
