Job Summary: The Assistant Managers primary responsibility is to support the Store Manager in the success of the business unit and development of employees. Assistant managers are also responsible for managing the store in the managers absence.
List of Responsibilities:

Implement and enforce established daily operating procedures to ensure store is clean, adequately stocked, organized, and well kept.
* Ensure all merchandise is stocked and displays are attractive, priced correctly, and displayed in a safe manner
* Maintain quality fuel brand image standards.
* Monitor daily retail gasoline competitors and sending the prices to the corporate office in a timely manner as established by management.
* Monitor cash overages/shortages, inventory shrinkage, and drive offs daily.
* Ability to perform all duties and that of a store cashier when business needs require.
* Understand all information in the daily reporting of store operations.
* Implement monthly promotions, insure all POS advertising/signage is properly posted at the proper time.
* Communicate any problems with merchandise pricing to the Price Book Coordinator.
* Implement and enforce all merchandising and vendor policies and procedures.
* Meet paperwork and computer entry deadlines for Payroll and Human Resources as established by timelines put in place by these departments.
* Enforce all Safety and Security Issues and report unsafe conditions, following up until issue is resolved.
* Follow company procedures to report and process required communications and paperwork concerning all employee or customer incidents or accidents.
* Follow and enforce all Labor Laws, Company Policies and Established Procedures in the store operations.
* Maintains a professional demeanor at all times in supervising employees or handling of challenges/complaints from employees or customers.
* Work closely with upper management to recruit, interview, hire and train new hires.
* Support, encourage, and challenge employees for success and future promotional opportunities.
* Assist when required in employee performance reviews, set goals and work with employees in problem areas.
* When requested by the GM or DM, handle corrective action and/or terminations in a timely manner and according to company policy.
Requirements
Other Information:
* Related experience preferred.
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* This position requires repetitive motions and the ability to lift or push objects weighing up to 40 lbs
* Professional demeanor in supervising employees and supporting customer needs required.
* Ability to multi-task recommended
* Ability to work 10-hour shifts five days weekly.
* Flexibility in schedule with availability to open or close and run shifts without supervision required
* Ability to stand long term, bend to clean and/or stock and lift products up to 50 lbs.
* Knowledge of Federal and State Employment Laws.
* Background Check Required
