Job Title: ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, EVENTS AND SPACE MANAGEMENT, University Research
Job Description:
- Boston University's Office of Research (OOR) is seeking applicants for the Associate Director of Events and Space Planning.
- The Office of Research supports all aspect of research at BU and oversees 22 reporting units including a variety of University-wide centers and institutes.
- Reporting directly to the Associate Vice President of Research Operations, this position involves a multifaceted set of responsibilities aimed at enhancing the overall research environment and fostering collaborative initiatives.
- The Associate Director is responsible for the strategic planning and execution of approximately 30 Office of Research events annually. This includes management of all event logistics, budgets, and working with a variety of stakeholders across the University.
- The AD will analyze and measure event data to inform decision making and maximize engagement.
- The AD's successful leadership of these events will contribute to the OOR's goals of fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, securing funding opportunities, and furthering research initiatives.
The Associate Director also manages all facilities and space initiatives for many of the areas reporting to the Office of Research. This position provides guidance and support, in partnership with Campus Planning and Operations, to execute all approved projects on time and within budget.
- The AD will also be responsible for managing the OOR's cost share budget as well as the process for all requests and approvals.

Required Skills

- Bachelor's Degree and 5-8 years of related experience required or a Master’s Degree with 3-5 years of related experience.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Project management experience in event planning/implementation and space planning/implementation
- Experience in financial analysis and budgeting
- Strong interpersonal skills and effective collaborator
Note:
- Eligible to be remote 2 days, but must be in person for events
- Higher Ed experience a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
