Position Summary

Reporting to Manager, IT Operations, this position is responsible for supporting the end user IT experience in person at the Buckland El Paso office and remotely for other Buckland staff. The position will have you supporting end user requests alongside others on the IT Operations team to provide prompt resolutions. Candidates will be required to use their skills of communication and time management along with an ability to troubleshoot and use internal and external documentation to find solutions to staff problems. This position will consist of hands on tasks of readying hardware and remote support tasks for users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Field incoming helpdesk requests from end users via ticketing system, phone or in person
• Installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of Windows systems.
• Assist with configuration, installation and maintenance of software, hardware and telecommunications services such as: computers, software applications, printers, telephones, servers, and general office equipment.
• Participate in reviewing systems, testing and deploying updates.
• Contribute to taking the needs of the users and improving solutions through planning, design, review and installation tasks.
• Detailed documentation or actions and creating and updating support documentation with all daily tasks. Creation of process documentation as product support grows.
• Actively tracking, documentation, and management of Buckland IT resources.
• Fulfill tasks under the direction of IT teams to ensure hardware, software and network are available 98 % of time on 24/7 basis, excluding scheduled downtime.
• Consult with technical staff, meet with vendors & consultants when site access is required or causes of related problems are not apparent and need to be escalated.

The ideal candidate will bring:

• Bilingual – Spanish/English
• Completed Computer Science Degree/Diploma or related technical education focusing on the following:
  • Virtual server technologies VMWare / Hyper-V
  • Cloud Infrastructure Azure / AWS / Google
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016 / 2019 / Exchange Online
  • Windows server 2016/2019/2022 and the accompanying enterprise applications, Active Directory, IIS, file servers, etc.
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Desktop support for PC environment supporting Windows 10 and Microsoft Office suite
  • Networking, Cisco/Meraki/Palo Alto/others
• Experience in any of the following areas would also be an asset; warehousing, customs brokerage, importing, exporting, logistics, supply chain systems.
• Networking fundamentals and experience considered an asset
• Microsoft 365 and Azure experience considered an asset
• Applied knowledge of PowerShell scripting
• Ability to work under tight timeframes with a keen sense of urgency
• Requirement to be on-call as part of a rotation
