What are the responsibilities and job description for the Men's Assistant Buyer position at Buckle?
Summary
The Assistant Buyer will work alongside Buyers in the preparation and follow-through of the complete buying process. This position will demonstrate creativity and organization in addition to effective communication to impact the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Demonstrate an understanding of the Buckle image, philosophy and goals in order to promote that image to Guests and Teammates.
- Communicate with vendors/sales representatives on most aspects of the approval and buying process.
- Participate in the selection of product, preparation and the placing of buys for a respective category.
- Coordinate packages and/or samples being sent to the office for review.
- Responsible for creating, coordinating and preparing tech packs for vendor review with appropriate Buyer.
- Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, retargets, details and other related information reviewed with appropriate Buyer(s).
- Maintain an understanding of all buyer reports and development timelines.
- Transfer fit information to an Excel spreadsheet and relay information to vendors after seeing samples on a Fit Model.
- Express leadership within the category team, set the pace and work together to accomplish daily tasks and projects.
- Fulfill mission statement by performing job duties with a high level of customer service while contributing to a positive team spirit.
- Special projects and other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to two years Buckle experience or one year buying/merchandising experience preferred.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the Teammate regularly works in an office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
