What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bartender position at Buffalo Wild Wings?
JOB PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to create a unique and personal experience for our Buffalo Wild Wings Guests by effectively presenting food and beverage options in an informative, friendly, and enthusiastic manner.
JOB FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Make personal connections with Guests to create loyalty through engaging conversations
- Participation required for Mystery Shop, GEM and BARS program. Follow Company Standard Operating Procedures for BARS program “Must ID anyone who looks under 40 years of age” Check Guests identification to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Read and organize tickets to quickly and accurately serve Guests and manage large crowds
- Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for Guest per the standards and specifications set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures
- Service, cleanliness and operational responsibilities included but not limited to
- Follow Steps of Service and other Company Operating Procedures
- Bussing, resetting bar, restocking caddies, cleaning of menus and menu placement on the bar
- Stocking of bar and refilling ice bin
- Removing debris and spills from floor in assigned section
- Replace kegs and restock bottle beer and alcohol when necessary
- Monitor and manage bar inventory and cost control measures including tracking waste per company drink specs and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor current levels of inventory including stemware, glassware, garnished, etc. to ensure proper levels, and prepares, washes, and sterilizes these items to replenish inventory as needed
- Take food and beverage orders from Guests and prepare beverages for those guests as well as the server’s Guests.
- Collect and accurately process Guest payments per the Company’s Standard Operating Procedures.
- Attempt to limit problems and liability related to customer excessive drinking by taking appropriate precautions.
- Maintain clean and sanitary bar area, equipment, and blenders
FOH support opening and/or closing duties to maintain operational cleanliness as identified in the FOH Support Responsibilities Policy for Tipped Employees. Bartender will be paid the applicable minimum wage rate for the time spent performing required FOH Support duties that are not included in the Bartender Job Description. If you are assigned as FOH Support task while clocked in under the server job code, you must clock-out of the bartender job code and immediately clock-in under the FOH Support code until the task is completed. Immediately upon completion of the FOH Support task, you must clock-out of the FOH Support job code and clock back in to your bartender job code. If you are asked to perform a task outside of your Bartender Job Description, without first clocking in under the FOH Support job code, please notify Human Resources immediately.
