Grants Accountant (GA) (40 hrs, non-exempt)


The (GA) prepares all required periodic reporting to government funders and is responsible for BUILD’s overall grant compliance and administration. The (GA) reports directly to the  Grants Monitor (GM).


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements agency-wide grant compliance and reporting program, covering both fiscal and programmatic aspects
  • Liaises with the Fiscal Manager in formulating agency-wide budget parameters to incorporate government contract terms, including the development and maintenance of an organization-wide cost allocation plan
  • Ensures that agency cost allocation plan is incorporated into the monitoring of grants and contracts
  • Works with Development and Program to prepare all materials for new and renewed contracts
  • Liaises with Program Directors to discuss implications of programmatic activity on existing governmental and other restricted funding
  • Prepares reporting documents to government funders, ensuring the timely submission of all vouchers and related compliance reports
  • Establishes supporting files for periodic requests
  • Supports audit requests by governmental funding agencies
  • Provides detailed reporting of outstanding government contract receivables, on a contract level
  • Liaises with Program and Development in the quarterly review of the programs’ operating results and incorporates their involvement in the periodic preparation of necessary budget modifications for each contract
  • Perform account analysis, as requested by Grants Managers.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned


Requirements

  • Candidate must have BA/BS in accounting with a minimum of two to four years of prior accounting experience in a not-for-profit organization.
  • Experience with Excel, Fund EZ, and NetSuite is a plus.
  • Must also demonstrate excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
