What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Worker Supervisor position at Building Bridges Foster Family Agency?
Summary:
Each supervisory employee at Building Bridges shall be responsible for the performance of assigned staff. The Social Worker Supervisor is responsible for assisting and supporting the Administrator. The Social Worker Supervisor is a key member of the team, responsible for the supervision of up to six (6) Social Workers and can carry a caseload up to 8.
Qualifications:
1. A master's Degree from an accredited or state approved graduate school, as defined in Section 94310 of the Education Code, in social work or social welfare, marriage, family, and child counseling, child psychology, child development, counseling psychology, or social psychology.
2. In addition to the degree specifications in Subsection (b)(1) above, all of the following coursework and field practice or experience shall be required of all new hires:
(A) At least three semester units or 100 days of field practice or experience in a public or private social service agency setting at the Master's Degree level.
(B) At least nine semester units of coursework related to children and families or 18 months experience in working with children and families.
(C) At least three semester units in working with minority populations; six months of experience in working with minority populations; or six months in-service training in working with minority populations within the first year of employment as a condition of employment.
(D) At least three semester units in child welfare or two years’ experience in a public or private child welfare social services setting.
Requirements:
1. Documentation of the required education and experience requirements shall be maintain in the personnel file.
2. Employee must undergo a pre-employment physical examination. This examination will be given at the employee expense by a license physician and will include a TB test as requires by Community Care Licensing.
3. Employee must submit to a live san fingerprints process. Each employee must receive clearance from Department of Justice, Federal Bureau of Investigation and Child Abuse Index per Community Care Licensing.
4. Employee must sign a statement acknowledging the child and elder abuse and neglect reporting.
5. Participate in employee orientations and ongoing training.
6. Have a current California Driver License and automobile insurance.
7. Employee must have the ability to use office machines, word processors, computers, etc. to prepare the necessary documentation, reports, etc. regarding the clients being served by Building Bridges, responsibilities in Penal Code Section 11164 et seq.
8. Employee shall complete a minimum of one-hour training in the area of child and elder abuse recognition, identification, assessing and reporting.
9. Attainment of at least 21 years of age.
