What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Building Industry Partners?
Aligned Equity Holdings (Aligned) – an investment holding company, was formed by Building Industry Partners (BIP) in July 2021. Aligned is BIP’s exclusive go-forward investment vehicle for opportunistic private equity investment in the US building industry.
Aligned’s holding company structure enables an opportunistic investment focus on the lower middle market without the timing constraints of a committed capital fund while gaining benefits of scale, including a more diversified combined business, a more favorable cost of capital, and ultimately a more strategically capable evergreen company. Aligned has a particular focus on family-owned businesses in the lower middle-market, where it continues to find compelling proprietary investment opportunities and can leverage a buy-and-build acquisition strategy to drive equity value creation. Since it’s July ’21 inception, Aligned has launched four platform companies (two distribution, one manufacturing, and one install and services) with combined revenues in excess of $250m.
Aligned’s ambition is to be a middle-market, sector-focused “Baby Berkshire," generating world-class PE investment returns (>30% gross IRR) through launching and scaling up to 8 manufacturing, distribution, and services/installation platform companies in the building products and construction services sectors over the next five years.
Aligned is seeking a talented Corporate Controller. This role will focus on scaling and driving the control function for Aligned and partner with the Controller/Finance leads within the portfolio companies. This is an excellent opportunity to join a purpose driven, investment holding company, and be part of an exciting journey to grow the current portfolio and drive equity value.
