Named after the first thoroughbred horse brought to America, the name Bulle Rock truly signifies the strength of these 235 acres of golf heaven. Superbly designed by Pete Dye, Bulle Rock has long been considered the region’s best player’s course and the top-ranking public course in Maryland. It is continually ranked in the Top 100 listings of every major Golf Publication.  Bulle Rock is ranked in Golf Digest’s “America’s 100 Greatest Public Golf Courses 2017-2018 and in Golf Magazine’s “Top 100 Courses You Can Play” and it delivers that quality.  Golf World Magazine, Golfweek Magazine and Golf Styles Magazine have all recognized Bulle Rock as one of the best golf courses in the Mid-Atlantic and United States.

Bulle Rock opened in 1998 with a vision to be a world class golf course that anyone could play. It was very quickly rated as one of the best courses in the nation including being awarded “The Best New Upscale Golf Course in America” by Golf Digest in December 1998.

As well as a great golf course, Bulle Rock provides a wide variety of amenities for it guests. The Gourmet Pub & Grill offers various dining possibilities including a la carte dining, banquet rooms, an outside deck, casual dining, meeting rooms and a terrific menu are all available. The banquet facility can readily accommodate golf outings, weddings, functions and events. The clubhouse features a fully stocked Golf Shop, lesson programs and custom club fitting. Full-service locker rooms and a locker room attendant is on staff. Practice facilities include a double fairway driving range with an all grass tee, a three green short game area and two practice putting greens including a 10,000 SF putting green next to the short game practice area and a 17,000 SF putting green adjacent to the first tee.

Position Summary:

Manages and directs overall operational and fiscal performance of the facility in compliance with Company policies and procedures. Develops and implements service, fiscal, operational, marketing and business development plans and strategies. Establishes and administers service and operational standards and quality performance guidelines for all operating functions and staff.

Major Duties:

• Oversee and direct all key functional support leaders, including: Superintendent, Head Golf Professional, Director of Sales and Marketing, Director of Food & Beverage, Property Controller/HR and the applicable support staff.
• Requires strong verbal and non-verbal communications.
• Direct, coordinate and monitor the development of the property’s annual business plan, marketing plan and operating budget.
• Ability to proactively generate systematic action plans and hold applicable staff members accountable for the proper execution of improvement strategies.
• Monitor and evaluate financial performance relative to budget goals and objectives. Analyze budget variances, develop and implement action plans to achieve appropriate adjustments.
• Direct, coordinate and monitor the development of the facility’s annual business plan and operating/capital budgets.
• Develop and communicate recommendations and plans for operating guidelines and capital projects.
• Analyze and evaluate operations to determine productivity efficiencies vs. budgeted standards.
• Review and approve financial expenditures and transactions relative to operations, services, and facilities/equipment within and according to established guidelines and procedures.
• Ensure the quality of customer service activities in all departments. Formulate general plans and oversee their implementation towards achieving customer service excellence.
• Provide appropriate leadership, direction, supervision, and guidance to staff in accord with Company culture to promote positive employee morale and performance quality.

Qualifications:

• College degree preferred.
• 5+ years applicable management experience, emphasis in daily fee club operations.
• Demonstrated and proven experience in budget development, fiscal management, strategic planning, and staff management.
• Experienced in creating successful programming which is designed to maximize the guest experience as well as existing and potential revenue opportunities.
• Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems; efficiently handle multiple duties under pressure with minimal supervision; work flexible hours as required including evenings/weekends.
• Positive attitude, professional manner and appearance in all situations.
