The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for account management of assigned customers, and proactively penetrating these accounts to generate new business and/or recapture lost business.The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for prospecting and qualifying sales leads to identify new business opportunities.The position requires close collaboration and engagement with all sales team members and the business functions that support a world class customer experience.
Core Functions:
Sell Bunge's shortening, oil and margarine products to assigned and targeted foodservice distributors and foodservice operators restaurant
Achieve annual sales targets, incorporating the full range of products/services with assigned and targeted customers.
*Customer Management: manage and execute day-to-day interactions and back office needs with select customer (broadline distributor/regional LLO) contacts
Build trusting partnerships: establish business relationships with key decision makers in various disciplines (i.e. R&D, Marketing, Purchasing) at the customer and at various levels.
Continuous learning and skill development: Train on product application and functionality in foodservice operations.Learn broadline distributor behaviors, buying patterns and economics. Shadow and provide PTO coverage for National Account and Regional managers.
New customer acquisition: prospect defined markets to identify and win new business
Proactively manage existing customers to retain existing business and develop new business
Monitor receivables/payment terms ensuring timely payment from customers
Manage timely and accurate flow of key information to customers (contract balances, pricing, etc.)
Develop effective working relationships with internal supporting functions (sales operations, customer service, contracting, pricing and product line management) to understand and improve their impact on customer experience and profitability.
Assist sales leadership to execute/expedite new customer onboarding/set up, pricing, credit, and other sales and customer related tasks.
Responsible for Food Safety and Quality by understanding and communicating company Quality and Food Safety Systems.
Ensure compliance with all work processes in accordance with Bunge's safety policies, procedures and culture, including but not limited to driving and customer on-site trials.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
Bachelors' Degree in business, agricultural economics, food science or related science, and 3 years' food industry and customer management experience, or equivalent experience preferred.
Must be creative in finding solutions with the help of others.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Must demonstrate strong team commitment and ability to energize and motivate self and others.
Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to interpret data
Proficient in MS Office Suite
Travel Requirements:
This is an office-based position in St Louis, MO
Up to 25% travel required
