What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head of Production position at Bungie?
We are seeking an inspiring leader and manager for the Producers of Bungie. As Bungie transforms into a multi-franchise organization, the Head of Production will lead the charge in building out the Production discipline, both for product teams and shared resource teams. The Head of Production is the craft leader and most senior manager of the organization, overseeing talent development, succession planning, and long-range scoping of Production resource needs. The Head of Production would report directly to the Chief Development Officer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and mentors the department directors, executive producers, and discipline managers within Production
- Works with the Chief Development Office to create the vision for Production craft excellence, and helps ensure values and standards across all franchises
- Oversees the talent roadmap, staffing strategy, succession planning, and career development for the Production organization
- Coordinates with Bungie’s People Team to roll out our people programs and processes
- Builds and cultivates an inspiring and inclusive culture within Production
- Creates a sense of connection and community within the Production Discipline, via all-hands meetings, morale events, newsletters, 1:1’s, etc.
- Drives continuous improvement of our craft standards, production tools, and development practices
- Influences and improves Bungie’s overall studio approach to management and development
- Represents the Production discipline to leadership groups across the studio
- Arbitrates and oversees inter-department transfers, partnering with business leaders to ensure they support Bungie’s strategic goals
- Embodies the highest standards of people leadership and positive culture at Bungie
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Extensive production and leadership experience within game development
- Experience managing and leading an organization at scale, including all-hands communication, staff planning, budgeting, etc.
- Broad knowledge of production tools, practices, and standards
- Outstanding communication and people management skills

- Deep experience shipping and supporting Live Service games
