As lead bartender, you will be an exceptional customer service representative, responsible for exceeding the customer expectations by providing them with friendly, prompt and attentive service tailored to the customer’s preference. The lead bartender will efficiently craft every drink to perfection and serve customers responsibly. The lead bartender will be required to have an extensive knowledge of our food and drink menu and be able to recommend, sell and reinforce the customers’ orders - ALWAYS with a SMILE.

The lead bartender is committed to safe food handling, cleanliness, safety, and sanitation standards during the shift and prepares drinks with proper safety equipment, tools and recipe specs with further direction from Management.

  • Assist Burger Theory Management with creating beverage services that focus on revenue growth, controlling costs, protecting and increasing profitability, service standards and quality levels for the food and beverage department.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and professional delivery of all items ordered.
  • Work with management in the selection, training, retraining, and coaching of staff in alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, health and safety.
  • Assist with directing, controlling and planning activities at the bar.
  • Assist in ensuring all bar equipment is in good working order.
  • Act as Manager on Duty as needed.
  • Assist with scheduling and receive beverage deliveries. Verify shipment contents to ensure product quality and quantity.
  • Assist with monthly liquor inventories.
  • Coordinate with Burger Theory General Manager on beverage related marketing & promotional events with the bartenders.
  • Assist with training and monitoring ticket times and other bar standards.
  • Utilize labor management tools to schedule and control costs.
  • Other duties, projects, and tasks as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • Minimum 2 years bartending experience required
  • Must be food safety certified with alcohol service training knowledge. Must have a thorough knowledge of accepted sanitation practices and standards.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand the primary language used in the workplace to communicate with guests and employees.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours from open to close and include and weekends and holidays.
