Position Summary:
This role is more than a Prep Cook, it is the opportunity to act as a brand ambassador to bridge cultures through food. Take our patrons on a culinary adventure through education, quality customer service, and a positive experience at our restaurant! We are counting on you to be an extension of our brand.
Job Responsibilities:
Be a team player, and work together with your team to foster a healthy and warm atmosphere
Assist line cooks and the kitchen manager with a variety of preparation work: cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, appetizers, etc.
Store away delivered goods in appropriate location
Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area
Label and store food according to restaurant standards
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Fill in for absent staff as needed
Comply with health and safety codes
Qualifications:
Team Player Positive Attitude
Strong customer service skills
Excellent oral communication skills required
Positive interpersonal skills required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multicultural & diverse team
Able to acquire a California Food Handler’s License (before or within 2 weeks of hiring)
Bilingual is a plus
Kitchen Experience is a plus
